Q: I am new to the dog park. What do I need to know?
A:  All new users to the park MUST read dog park rules prior to entering the park. The rules are located here.

Q: Is the dog park suitable for all dogs?
A: No, the dog park is not suitable for all dogs. Dog park suitability depends on the dog's temperament and personality. Even the best family dogs may not be dog park ready! This is not a critical reflection of the dog, or the owner, but simply part of the dog's temperament. Like humans, every dog is unique, and should be respected for who they are. The dog park is best for dogs that enjoy the company of other dogs and people. Please keep this park viable by ensuring that your dog is ready to socialize with other dogs and their owners. It is the dog handler's responsibility to evaluate their own dog's social skills and assume full liability while visiting the park. Dogs entering the dog park must have on their current year dog license, and be at least 4 months of age. Please read all rules located here for more information on dog park rules and etiquette.

A: The dog park is open during daylight hours seven days a week.

Q: Where is the park located?
A: It is located at the Blackwater Creek Athletic Area at 515 Monticello Ave., Lynchburg, VA. See here for directions.

Q: Is there a fee to use the park?
A: No, the park is free to everyone, but your dog needs to have a valid dog license from your city or county of residence.
